Food of War is a Multidisciplinary Art Collective dedicated to using food as a form of expression to help us think critically about the hidden relationships between the meaning of ‘eating’ and the various meanings of ‘conflict’.
Through art objects and performances, the collective proposes a multisensory experience about the complex human issues involved in the act of eating. Food of war is a non-profit initiative that develops art, cultural and social projects in order to raise awareness about the impact of civil, cultural and private conflicts in different societies around the world, promotes the artists who use food as the cornerstone of both message and medium, and encourages viewers to experience their food as something much wider than simply nutrition and taste.
